The Lost Gardens of Heligan
1 minute walk from our park

When you stay at Heligan Caravan and Camping Park, you benefit from an exclusive discount to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, within walking distance of our park! Explore their 200 acres of magical gardens, wander the hidden trails, and discover the rich and fascinating history of this mysterious attraction. Little ones will love exploring their Play Meadow - Cornwall’s largest outdoor playground - which has a brand-new jumping pillow; the only one in the South West!
Dogs are welcome all year around on a lead.
Mevagissey Harbour
6 minute drive or 40 minute walk from our park

This idyllic Cornish fishing village is filled with unique shops, galleries, hidden nooks and plenty of places to pick up fish and chips or an ice cream.
Wander down the pier, take the little ones crabbing in the harbour, or take a boat trip around the bay - from thrilling fishing voyages to relaxing wildlife spotting. If you hop on the local ferry (dogs can travel for free) you can also discover the nearby town of Fowey.
The harbour is frequently visited by local seals, so keep an eye out!
Dogs are welcome around the harbour and in most shops.
The Eden Project and Hangloose
20 minute drive from our park

Set in a reclaimed China Clay pit, this ecological attraction is home to subtropical biomes recreating natural environments and immersive experiences from across the planet. Wander around at your own pace and take in the stunning sights.
Little ones will love the play parks and nature trails, while thrill seekers can get their daily dose of adrenaline at Hangloose adventure, based at the Eden Project. With climbing walls, high ropes, a zip line over the biomes and more, there's plenty to keep you occupied.
Dogs are welcome in the outdoor gardens, nature trails, picnic areas, and the visitor center, but not in the biomes.
Shipwreck Treasure Museum and Charlestown
15 minute drive from our park

Uncover the secrets of Cornwall's history of trade, sailing - and pirates! The Shipwreck Treasure Museum is a great day out for the family, with interactive attractions and plenty to discover.
Set in the harbour port of Charlestown - used as a film set for the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean, Doctor Who and Alice in Wonderland - you can really make a day of it. Wander around the little shops, try local cuisine in the harbour restaurants, or head down to the beach to soak up the sun.
Dogs are welcome on a lead.
Truro Cathedral and City Centre
30 minute drive from our park

With a history dating back to 1259, breathtaking gothic architecture, stained glass murals and spires reaching to the heavens, Truro Cathedral is a truly stunning place to visit during your stay with us. Entry to the cathedral is free (donations welcome) and you can stay as long as you like.
Set in the heart of Truro city centre, you'll have plenty to do. There's a selection of high street stores and independent shops, a cinema, VR gaming centre, museum, theatre and gardens.
There’s a convenient park and ride service too with buses into the centre and back again every 10 minutes. Drive to the Tregurra car park (Sat Nav postcode TR1 1RH) where you can leave your vehicle for the day.
South West Coast Path
Starting from our park

Situated beside the South West Coast Path, Heligan Caravan and Camping Park is the perfect base to explore Cornwall. There are miles of stunning trails to discover, with panoramic sea views, hidden coves and peaceful places to rest and have a picnic.
If you love to cycle, you can bring your own wheels, or borrow some from Pentewan Bike Hire who cater for every expertise. If walking is more your style, discover the stunning landscape on foot, taking in the breathtaking views and secluded sandy bays. There’s no better way to experience the Cornish coastline.
Pentewan Sands Beach
5 minute drive or 40 minute walk from our park

Based at our sister park, Pentewan Sands Beach is set on half a mile of gorgeous golden sand. Explore the waves with Cornwall Watersports, based right on the beach, try the delicious burgers in the Hub Box beach bar, and sunbathe to your heart's content!
Set right on the beach is Pentewan Sands Holiday Park, which is home to restaurants, a fish and chip shop, arcade and swimming pools, which guests of Heligan are welcome to use. Ask our reception team for more information!
Please note that there is a dog ban from March - November on this beach.
Lappa Valley
35 minute drive from our park

Discover a secret world of play and trains! Ride around, discover the adventure parks and golf, and let off steam at the indoor play centre. With 35 acres of trails, woodland and trains, Lappa Valley is the perfect day out for little explorers -and they're dog friendly too!
St Austell Brewery
15 minute drive from our park

Take a tour of St Austell Brewery and discover how your favourite beers are made! Learn the history of Cornish brewing in their museum, and try something new in their on-site pub.
If you want to leave your vehicle here, catch a 15 minute bus to St Austell station, and from there, the brewery is just a 5 minute walk away.
Dogs are only allowed in the shop due to food and drink handling in the brewery.
Bodmin Jail
35 minute drive from our park

For thrill seekers, discover the dark history of Bodmin Jail. Wander the haunted innards of this haunted 18-century prison and uncover the stories of the inmates and their crimes. If you love horror and spooky encounters, check out their Dark Walk experience - it's not for the faint hearted!
Dogs aren't allowed at this attraction due to loud noises and sudden movement.
