Glorious Spring Gardens - Easter Eggstravaganza

Cornwall is famous for its wonderful gardens and in spring the gardens are rich with glorious camellias, rhododendrons and magnolias under which primroses, bluebells and wild violets shine.

Many of Cornwall’s Gardens run family activities over the Easter holidays; here’s a run-down of some of our favourites:

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

1 – 17 April. This Easter, The Lost Gardens of Heligan has created a range of activities to keep the little ones busy. Help them find the escaped Tamworth piglets to win a chocolaty prize, meet the newly born lambs and piglets and learn more about the wider estate and important work that is carried out to keep heritage practises alive. If you still have a spring in your step, enjoy a host of family fun games or visit the Easter marquee and try your hand at a range of crafty springtime activities!

The Eden Project

1 – 17 April. This year, Easter at the Eden Project is going even more egg-streme! Enjoy some crazy egg-themed games, including a new take on netball (nest-ball!), the tricky ‘pickled eggs’, and a giant ‘egg-scramble’ course complete with ball-pool team challenge. Elsewhere, compete with friends and family at hook-a-duck, take part in trails for all ages, track down some elusive golden eggs, or bounce your way down inflatable slides – with prizes and treats awarded to successful egg hunters.

Plus, the new Weather Maker experience allows you to discover fascinating facts about the relationship between rainforests and world’s climate whilst being high up on the new forest canopy walkway.

Trebah Garden

Trebah Garden is a beautiful, sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop. Explore under canopies bursting with exotic blooms and follow vibrant tunnels of colour that cascade down to their very own secluded beach on the Helford River. In spring, Trebah comes alive with a colourful array of 100-year-old rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias and with adventure play areas, children's trails and special events all year round, Trebah is a very family friendly garden. This Easter there’s a range of events, including the Family Wildlife Day on the 7 April in association with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, and Easter Drop in Workshops on the 11 and 13 April. Find out more at trebahgarden.co.uk

Caerhays Castle Gardens

Join the Caerhays Castle Garden Easter Trail from 14 – 17 April and take a journey of exploration around the gardens, completing the Easter quiz along the way before collecting a prize chocolate egg as a well-earned reward.
